Dr. Day was born and raised in Albuquerque before moving to San Diego for his undergraduate studies, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then returned home to attend the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his preliminary internship in General Surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA, followed by a residency in Integrated Interventional Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
During his training, he served as chief resident. His involvement in educational activities and projects provided guidance and mentorship to many medical students and residents. He is now excited to be back in his home state to serve the people of New Mexico.
Dr. Day treats a wide range of conditions using advanced, minimally invasive techniques. This includes the treatment of liver cancer, such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cholangiocarcinoma, and liver metastases, as well as kidney cancer. In addition to cancer care, Dr. Day provides treatment for certain pain conditions, such as genicular artery embolization for knee osteoarthritis and kyphoplasty for compression fractures of the spine. He also offers non-surgical options for uterine fibroids and addresses various forms of venous disease.
He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. Outside of medicine, he enjoys snowboarding, surfing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family.
