Osteoarthritis Treatment
Medical Therapies
Joint Injections
Non-surgical treatments for arthritis include injections to the painful joint. While these treatments can help reduce pain, they are often temporary and may have the adverse effects on the joint cartilage.
Surgical Therapies
Total or Partial Knee Replacement
Knee replacement surgery involves cutting away the arthritis bone and inserting a prosthetic joint. This is considered a major operation. People usually decide to undergo surgery when they feel the can no longer live with their arthritis pain. The recovery time is long and involves an intense physical therapy regimen.
What We Offer
Minimally-Invasive Therapy
Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE)
Genicular Artery Emobilization is a highly effective and minimally-invasive treatment that offers long-lasting pain relief caused by chronic joint disease. Pain experienced in osteoarthritis comes from in the joint. GAE works by blocking these abnormal blood vessels, causing inflammation to subside.

What is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic, disabling condition that effects 10-15% of adults over 60. Joint inflammation, cartilage breakdown, and bone degeneration contribute to chronic pain, stiffness, and impaired movement. OA is the most common form of joint disease and is the leading cause of disability worldwide.
Symptoms of OA
- Discomform or stiffness after walking or sitting for a prolonged time
- Pain flare-ups after activity
- Loss of flexibility and less range of motion
- Swelling, stiffness, and warmth in the knee
- A Feeling of weakness resulting in “Locking” or “buckling” of the knee
- Sudden, sharp pains on the weight-bearing which can last from minutes to days
Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE)
A Non-Surgical Alternative for Osteoarthritis of the Knee
Minimally Invasive
A 90-minute outpatient procedure slows knee joint blood flow. Everything is done through the blood vessels – no need for surgery.
Redueces Inflammation
Slowing the blood flow, while harmless to the joint, block abnormal blood vessels, causing inflammation and pain to decrease.
A Quick Procedure
A quick procedure will reduce knee pain, remove stiffness in your joint and get you back to the active lifestyle you are missing!
How Does GAE Work?
GAE is a minimally-invasive procedure that is reduces knee pain by using a technique which blocks the pain-causing arteries in the knee.
GAE is not a cure for Osteoarthritis but the procedure helps to increase your quality of life and reduces the need for pain-killer or other injections.
